interview preparation
I was having a look at my HSC stuff, when I found, by pure coincidence, my Career copybook! (Yes, I did have one..). Here is an extract of the class of 3 May 2005:
Preparing for the interview

What accomplishments are you most proud of? What has been your greatest crisis? How did you solve it? What do you like best about your school? What do you like the least? How has the school prepared you for this choice? Describe your ideal career. Why did you choose this particular field of study? What have you done that shows initiatives? In what fields of your study would you expect to be most successful? What do you see yourself doing in 5 or 20 years old time? What frustrates you? What motivates you? What do you know about this particular country? How would you describe your study styles? How do you define success? When the interview is nearly over, you will probably be asked if you have any questions. Always have some ready-something that will show that you are really interested in the course/post that you have applied for. After the interview, say "Thank you" with a smile. Have a follow-up. If you do not get any admission/scholarship, continue to persevere. Don't be disappointed. Prepare yourself for your next interview. Afterall, the more interviews you tackle, the more polish you become.
